Applying for the INSPIRE program

*Applicants are highly recommended to upload their CV as additional material, although it is not required.

Application Procedures

Applications for INSPIRE PhD should be submitted online by completing the WSU Graduate Application form. Information and instructions for completing the admissions process are available at the Graduate Admissions Office. INSPIRE does not have an MS option at this time. 

• Application Checklist:
  • Electronic application
  • Personal statement: provide a detailed account of your personal and educational background that led towards this application. Limit your statement to one (1) page.
  • Research Statement: describe your research interests and outline the type of research you are interested in and/or describe research you have conducted in the past. Limit your statement to one (1) page.
  • Official copies of all academic transcripts.
  • Three letters of recommendation from persons able to judge the applicant's potential in graduate school.
  • Official copies of GRE scores (ETS institutional code:1898; departmental code:0216) taken within the last three years (GRE is optional, but may assist in the application decision).
